«Consume Local» Togo’s experience has become regional in 8 West African countries.
UEMOA Commission President Abdallah Boureima launched the first edition 2020 of “October, the Month of Local Consumption” withing member states of the organization in Ouagadougou, UEMOA published.
According to Togo News, this initiative, in 8 member countries of UEMOA, is directly inspired by the Togolese experience. “This community experience is inspired by the Togolese example. Togo even has a department specifically dedicated to local consumption”, said Assoukou Raymond Krikpeu, UEMOA representative in Lomé.
“This campaign is not just a slogan, but it is reality, a model of shift, a change in behavior” Kodzo Adédzé, the Minister of Commerce said.
The West African Monetary and Economic Union (l’Union économique et Monétaire Ouest Africaine – UEMOA) its member states are Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
