Ethiopian Airlines Faces Route Loss as Somalia Threatens to Suspend Flights

Ethiopian Airlines may lose another route in the Horn of Africa as Somalia threatens to cancel its flying rights. The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has expressed frustration with the airline’s handling of customer service issues and ongoing disputes over national sovereignty. The SCAA criticized Ethiopian Airlines for not addressing previous complaints and for inadequately naming Somali destinations. This potential route loss follows Eritrea’s recent decision to suspend Ethiopian flights starting September 30. The SCAA has given Ethiopian Airlines a deadline of August 23 to resolve these issues or face an immediate suspension of flights to Somalia.
